HEALESVILLE residents Adrian and Nan Francis have created a picture-perfect coffee table book of the Yarra Valley.
Since deciding to compile the book three years ago Mr Francis said it had been a full-time project that they started straight away.
“We were driving out to Yarra Junction one day and Nan said, ‘Why don’t we do a book on the Yarra Valley?’ Two pictures that are in the book were taken that day,” Mr Francis said.
A hobbyist photographer for many years Mr Francis said he and his wife had learnt even more about the valley since starting the book.
“I’ve always loved the Yarra Valley. It was wonderful to explore your area. I can now say I’ve been down roads I haven’t been down before and I have met all sorts of people,” he said.
He hopes that visitors and locals can make the same discoveries through the images in the book that encompass the wildlife, buildings and scenery of the Yarra Valley.
Mr Francis said $10 from every book sold would go towards people directly affected by the recent bushfires.
The book, The Yarra Valley, will be launched at Swinburne University of Technology on Saturday 21 March from 3pm onwards.
Swinburne is at 237 Maroondah Highway, Healesville.
