LOCAL community groups helping bushfire recovery efforts can apply for grants under the Federal Government’s Volunteer Small Grants program.
Member for McEwen Fran Bailey has urged organisations to apply.
Grants of up to $5000 are available to support volunteers, including reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses, equipment replacement, counselling and personal support, training, recruitment and recognition of volunteers.
There are also grants of up to $3000 available for local groups to host community events in fire-affected areas as part of the recovery process.
