A DECISION at Hoddles Creek Cricket Club to give under-12s player Bradd Arnold a chance to play in the Country Week team has paid off handsomely.
Bradd has returned from Country Week with the coveted Keith Mitchell memorial trophy.
He was among a select team from the Yarra Valley to compete in the annual competition.
The trophy goes to the best player in the series and is calculated on umpires’ votes at each match. Bradd, a grade-six student at Yellingbo Primary School, is a spin bowler also showing a talent for fast bowling.
Mum Cathy said Bradd was thrilled with the award.
“We are grateful to the Yarra Valley Association and the coach for giving him a chance,” Cathy said.
Bradd received his trophy in January at the presentations in Ivanhoe.
