MOUNT Evelyn scored 154 to take the honours as Coldstream battled to 145 when the Yarra Valley Cricket Association began the new year on Saturday.
Ben Thiele scored 74 for Mount Evelyn, while Chris Doyle had a strong all-round game, making 48 and continuing his impressive form with the ball by taking 3/13.
Liam Doughty did his best to set up a Coldstream win, scoring 60.
Luke Painter hit an unbeaten 100 in Silvan’s 9/199, his team proving too strong for Hoddles Creek, which was all out for 154. A. Crowhurst again starred with the ball for Silvan, taking 4/10.
