Quincy Henderson of Winona State University will step on to the court for Kilsyth Cobras this year.

KILSYTH Cobras have pulled off a coup, recruiting gun forward Quincy Henderson from Winona State University in the US.
Henderson transferred to Winona State from Creighton University and played alongside 2007 Cobras import Zach Malvik.
Henderson and Malvik teamed in Winona State’s 2005-06 NCAA Division II Championship and in 2006-07, when the team was NCAA Division II runner-up.
In 2007-08, Henderson played a major role in Winona State’s second NCAA Division II Championship in three years.
He will bring a strong-minded defensive presence to the Cobras’ line-up this season while also providing a solid scoring option. The all-star forward averages nine points a game and five rebounds
Henderson is excited about the prospect of playing professional basketball in Australia in the SEABL.
“I am ecstatic about the opportunity to join the Cobras and I am looking forward to being part of a winning organisation,” he said. “I hope to bring a defensive toughness to the team. I’ve always prided myself on my defence and hope to bring that intensity to the Cobras.”
Coach Grant Wallace has renewed optimism about the coming season after injuries derailed the Cobras’ 2008 campaign. With the roster complete, the team is looking forward to getting on the floor.
“After a thorough and extensive search we believe we have found the ideal player to complement and complete our roster,” Wallace said. “Quincy is an outstanding lockdown defender, a high-energy player and an outstanding team man.’’
Henderson will arrive in Australia in early next month, along with returning Cobras import Joe Werner.
