MICK Corr has farewelled Healesville Primary School after 18 years on the job.
The popular grade five teacher is not going far however.
Mr Corr started as principal of Chum Creek Primary when school resumed for term four.
“I will definitely miss Healesville Primary,” Mr Corr said.
“ The staff, parents and children have been fantastic throughout my time there.
“I’ll be moving from a school of 400 students to a school of 30.”
With more than two decades of teaching to his credit, Mr Corr said he was looking forward to taking the reins at Chum Creek.
“Chum is a small school with a strong community and parent support base, so it’s a good place to start out as a principal,” he said.
“The grounds are picturesque and the parents who support and run many of the school initiatives are a valuable asset to the school.”
Mr Corr said he will be looking to boost student numbers at Chum Creek, and improve the facilities available to students.
He said Chum Creek Primary had a proud environmental tradition after being named Women’s Weekly Environmental Heroes Award winners earlier this year.
“We are very proud of our environmental sustainability campaign, and our Wednesday Playgroup which has been very popular within the community and will continue throughout term four and into next year,” Mr Corr said.
“I am really looking forward to becoming part of the community at Chum Creek Primary,” he said.
