Picnic races promise relaxed alternative

HEALESVILLE Amateur Racing Club will launch its 2008-09 season on Saturday 1 November as part of Victoria’s Spring Racing calendar.
A day at the Healesville picnics has gained a reputation for being one of Victoria’s great value days out and, during Melbourne Cup week, provides a relaxing, kick-back alternative to the big one.
Shaded by beautiful elms, the location is ideal for family and social groups.
The whole family is catered for, with free entertainment for the kids and adults enjoying competitive picnic racing with full betting facilities.
Punters are welcome to take along a picnic lunch, and there is plenty of lawn space and lots of shaded areas for spreading the picnic rug. Alternatively, why not take advantage of the on-course catering which can be pre-booked and organised at all levels and for all social groups?
Racing is grass roots at Healesville with the feeling of being close to the action adding excitement to the pleasure of relaxing in one of the country’s most picturesque race-day settings.
