Back to front for

SOME like it hot … and Hillcrest Fire Brigade volunteers are planning to fire up their fundraising with their annual Back Burn Bash.
The annual event hosted by Hillcrest (formerly the Woori Yallock, Launching Place and Don Valley fire brigades) is a great opportunity for the firies to get together in the lead up to the summer fire season.
But for brigade volunteers, it’s also a fund-raiser and an chance for the public to show their support.
Brigade captain Rick Shaw said current fundraising efforts are aimed at the brigade’s building program.
Two bands, Bluez Deluxe and Black and Blue, have donated their time and talent and brigade members have put in a huge effort to ensure the night is not only a success, but great fun. The theme is Hollywood and there will be a costume competition and a fire raffle.
A light supper is included in the $20 ($35 a couple) entry fee with drinks BYO. The Back Burn Bash will be held at the Woori Yallock Primary School hall on Saturday 25 October from 7.30pm to “late”!
Tickets are available by phoning brigade members on 0407 838 119 or 0402 285 402.
