HENRY is almost certainly the cutest puppy ever to raise a paw for breast cancer research.
And, yes, it could be seen as shameless exploitation of the “oh … he’s so cute” factor, but when it comes to raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the team at Andrew McMath Professionals in Yarra Junction will stop at nothing. This year across Australia, more than 11,000 women will diagnosed with breast cancer.
“At Professionals, we are passionate about finding a cure for breast cancer and making a difference in the community,” said Lyndal McMath-Hall.
“This year, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month we’re taking our support to the next level,” Lyndal said.
“We have changed our window cards and lights to pink, our advertising will be pink, and we’re all wearing pink for the month … even the men are out there with their hot pink ties,” she said.
As Diamond Partners of the NBCF, a percentage of McMaths’ October sales will go to the cause, but they are also looking for support from the community.
In addition to the Go Pink merchandise, including pens, ribbons, keyrings, wrist bands and nail files, McMaths will put on a sausage sizzle on Saturday, 25 October between 10am and 2pm and a shoe sale on Tuesday, 28 October at 7.30pm.
The sale of Australian-made Laura Benini shoes, handbags and purses raised $400 last year and Lyndal said they are hoping to do even better .
Donations and merchandise purchases can be made at McMaths Real Estate in Yarra Junction. For information about the shoe sale, phone 5967 1800, or call in and ask for Wendy or Lyndal.
