INDIGENOUS culture will receive $37 million in funding.
The money is for arts, language, broadcasting programs, and cultural projects, to be allocated Australia-wide in 2008-09. It will help nearly 250 organisations, for activities including dance, festivals, music, and television and radio productions.
Federal Arts Minister Peter Garrett said indigenous culture touched and resonated with people all over the world.
“All Australians will enjoy the cultural benefits that will flow from the projects that receive these funds,” Mr Garrett said.
