HEALESVILLE 10 year old, Adam Bleumink, will represent Victoria in the National Eight Ball Titles next year following a spectacular entry into the sport’s elite competition last month.
Adam who started playing eight ball just six months ago, came runner up in the Under 12 Junior State Titles held in Ferntree Gully on Sunday, 27 November.
A new pool table in the Bleumink household prompted his interest in the sport and Adam modestly concedes he probably has a natural talent for the sport.
Since taking a liking to eight ball, Adam has become a regular player at Rack-Em-Up in Lilydale where he receives coaching, and encouragement.
He is justifiably pleased with his performance in the state finals, his first big competition, and is looking forward to being part of the Victorian team playing the nations best Under 12 competitors when the national titles are held in Dingley in March 2006.
With his school year at Healesville Primary School almost at an end, Adam will have an opportunity to hone his skills over the holidays in preparation for what he says he hopes will be a continuing involvement in eight ball competition to the highest level.
