VINTAGE cars and vintage wines … it’s a proven blend according to Jim and Diana Viggers at Yarra Track Wines.
The Viggers will hold the 9th Annual Vintage Sports Car Rally at their Yarra Glen vineyard on Sunday 8 June.
Magnificent men and women in their magnificent driving machines, 1920s and 1930s sports cars, will go through their paces around the vineyard.
“There are plenty of opportunities to see vintage cars on display but few where people see them in competition as they manoeuvre up and down slopes, around trees, stumps and flags with great skill,” Jim said.
The rally has become a popular event for the members of the club who enjoy the friendly rivalry of the rally and for those who have an appreciation of the cars which in most cases have been carefully restored to original condition by their owners.
The Viggers will have vintage wines, gourmet platters and lasagne available on the day, or visitors are welcome to take along a picnic lunch.
The rally commences from about 10.30am and entry is free.
Yarra Track Wines is at 518 Old Healesville Road, Yarra Glen.
