JAPANESE students from 12 Osaka City high schools passed on their expertise in the ancient Japanese art of origami (paper folding) when they visited Healesville Primary School last week.
The students were on a 10day stay as guests of Healesville High School. The school has hosted Japanese students for the past 10 years.
Healesville High School’s Japanese language teacher Yumiko Campbell, who accompanied the students and their teachers during the stay, said they had had a busy week including a number of activities at the high school.
The students met Yarra Ranges Shire deputy mayor Alan Fincher and, a must for every one of the visiting groups over the years, a visit to Healesville Sanctuary.
Ms Campbell welcomed another group of students, from high schools in northern Japan on Sunday.
