Spiros’ great business year

THIS week marks a full year in business for Healesville Walk Charcoal Chickens. And, it’s been a very full year for owner Spiros Stivactas and his staff.
The improvements Spiros made when he took over the business in October last year have proved popular, and not only with Healesville customers, but with visitors to the town.
His recipe for success is the same recipe that won Spiros four consecutive ‘Small Business of the Year’ awards when he operated charcoal chicken outlets in Sydney.
Excellent, flavourful chicken, superb salads, a spotless shop and helpful and friendly service all at a very competitive price.
The range of fresh salads, made with Spiros’s own mayonnaise recipe and including, egg and pasta, seafood, potato, coleslaw and Caesar, plus one or two more exotic salads, makes for a delicious, nutritious meal.
Customers can get chicken and salad packs as well as full chickens and functions from family and club occasions to fundraisers, parties and special events can be catered for.
Spiros is especially proud that during the football season, Bayswater Football Club had a weekly order with him for their club functions.
“The first year has been well beyond expectations and a big part of that is thanks to the locals who really got behind us from the very start.
“I’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to them all,” he said.
When the Mail spoke with Spiros a year ago he said he and his family were also looking forward to becoming very much part of the Healesville community.
They have achieved that, and shown their appreciation for the support of the local community, through sponsorship of the Healesville Cricket Club, supporting the local Lions Club in their fundraising and providing employment for six local people.
“I’m looking forward even more than I was a year ago to continuing the great association I have with the town,” Spiros said.
