THE Ride for Rotary Trash and Treasure Market will kick off at 8am on Saturday 24 February at Warratina Lavender Farm.
The market has been held annually for the past three years, and has raised up to $1500 in the past.
Market organiser, theatre nurse and manager of Warratina Lavender Farm Annemarie Manders hopes to raise another $500 from this year’s event, and by riding 80 to 100km of the Ride for Research route from Lilydale to Albury.
The market is being held as part of Rotary District 9810’s Ride for Research initiative.
Money raised from the market and from Mrs Manders’ ride will go to the Australian Rotary Health Research Fund (ARHRF), which is currently looking to eradicate polio worldwide via immunisation. It also sends teams of surgeons and theatre nurses to third world countries to perform vital operations such as repairing cleft palates and other deformities.
Warratina Lavender Farm is located at 105 Quayle Road, Wandin North. Those interested in purchasing a stall, at a cost of $15, should call 5964 4650.
