THERE’S no quieter place than the desert with its vast open spaces and tranquil nature.
So when Warburton resident Judy Garrecht visited the Central Australian Desert last year she decided to capture her peaceful retreat in a meditation CD.
The four-track EP, Colours of the Desert Wellbeing Guided Meditation, provides an introduction to meditation and relaxation while absorbing the vibrancy of colours and emotion of the desert.
“I wanted to capture the incredible silence and beauty of the desert but I really wanted people, particularly women, to feel the colours and experience the wellbeing of their mind, body, soul and emotions as they connect with the Divine Feminine of Mother Earth,” Ms Garrecht said.
“Along the way you will meet a mentor, absorb the vibrancy of the colours of the desert, release unwanted and unneeded energies and manifest what you need right now.”
Ms Garrecht, a colour therapist, attended meditation classes before she decided to develop her own wellbeing program for women in 2003.
The result, Women of Change, is a series of workshops that aim to empower women who are going through a period of change.
Ms Garrecht said such life changes usually include financial disasters, relationship collapse, death of a loved one, loss of a job, health issues and more.
“Women of Change is a blend of colour healing vibrations, earth medicine, archetypes and the sacred wheel of life,” Ms Garrecht said.
“It is a journey of recognising how external influences can affect our internal responses.”
