RANGES Swimming Club members Taryn Khor and Carly Robson represented the club in the Victorian Open Short Course Championships held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in July.
Both girls – Taryn, 14 and Carly, 13 – met the open qualifying time required to compete in the championships by qualifying for the Women’s Open 50m Backstroke and achieving personal best times on the day.
Their times, 32.37 for Taryn and 33.81 for Carly, place each swimmer in the top tier of their age group in Victoria.
Both swimmers, along with other Ranges swimmers are in training for the Victorian State Aged Championships to be held at MSAC in September.
Taryn and Carly have qualified to compete in as many as six events in their individual age groups.
