NOT everyone can afford to buy oil paintings which is why Pennylane Studio in Healesville is now offering ‘end of run’ prints for those who want to enjoy an image without paying the full price.
Pennylane artist Di King has exhibited her oil paintings all over the world and won numerous awards along the way.
After exhibiting in London in 1997 and Paris and New York in 1998, Ms King has had her images appear locally and internationally in a range of publications.
In 2003 she won the prize for Best Australian Landscape at one of Australia’s largest and most prestigious art exhibition, Camberwell Rotary Show.
Her love of the outback and the Australian landscape is evident in many of her works, which includes the High Country, river crossings and the beach.
She is particularly well known for her ability to capture light and movement in her paintings of people in action.
After living and painting in Healesville for 13 years, Ms King is now offering a range of her best works in print form.
“If people want an image and they can’t afford to buy an original oil painting they can still enjoy the image in another form,” Ms King said.
“However, these are the last of the run and there won’t be any more after this lot.”
Pennylane Studio is open by appointment but Ms King assures this is only so no one turns up while they are out.
“Some people ring when they’re out the front to see if we’re home or come and knock on the door,” she said.
“We’re very flexible so people are more than welcome to come and see if we’re home.”
