THE Lions Club of Marysville will celebrate Australia Day with its traditional float parade, entertainment and Australia Day address on Saturday 26 January.
The float parade with local residents, community groups and businesses taking part will provide a colourful start to the celebrations at 11am.
The parade is a multicultural spectacle with local and visiting residents carrying flags from their family’s country of origin.
Official Australia Day ambassador Tony Murphy, chief fire officer for the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, will deliver the Australia Day address which will be followed by entertainment by the Upbeats and guest vocalist Paula Cox.
More Australian tradition comes into play with Lions Club members manning a sausage sizzle.
Visitors are assured of a very special Australia Day welcome by the Marysville community and are invited to join the locals for a great Aussie afternoon in Lions Park.
Anyone who would like to carry the flag of their family’s country of origin can contact 5963 3601.
