FAMILY and friends helped long time Warburton resident Alice Jean Ward celebrate her 90th birthday last month with two celebrations to mark the occasion.
The mother of eight children, two adopted children, 16 grand children and 11 great grand children has lived in Warburton for over 63 years, since moving from Horsham when she was 27 years old.
In her later years, an energetic Mrs Ward has developed a keen interest in gardening, with her family, friends and church benefiting from a prolific vegetable patch and her many rose gardens.
During her 63 years living in Warburton, Mrs Ward said she had noticed many changes throughout the town.
“I don’t go into town that often anymore, but when I do it is so different, there are too many changes to name them all,” Mrs Ward said.
Mrs Ward said that she was blessed to share her birthday with so many friends and family.
“It was lovely to see everyone come out and celebrate with me,” Mrs Ward said.
