CELEBRATING and honouring life’s milestones in unique and meaningful ways will be the topic of a workshop at Yarra Junction library.
Warburton-based civil marriage celebrant Roz Tilley will discuss ideas for celebrating and honouring individual and family milestones at the library this Saturday at 11am.
Ms Tilley, who performs a wide range of milestone ceremonies, said the workshop would give hints and tips on staging naming ceremonies, marriage ceremonies, renewal of vows and blending ceremonies.
“The idea behind the presentation is to get people thinking about different ways they can celebrate and hold ceremonies for important events or occasions in their lives,” Ms Tilley said.
“There are many times in life when we want to celebrate or commemorate beginnings and endings, and people can celebrate in their own personalised ways.”
Ms Tilley, who draws upon a range of beliefs, traditions and religions and uses crystals, candles, spells, music and poetry during ceremonies, said celebrating milestones was an important part of life.
“With the pace of life these days, we need to take time out to honour and acknowledge where we are in life, where we have come from and where we might be going,” she said.
“People can devise and create their own ceremonies to celebrate all sorts of milestones, whether they are birthdays, unions or marriages, births, deaths or even divorces.”
Bookings for the Celebrating Life’s Milestones workshop can be made by phoning 5967 1588 or made in person at the Yarra Junction Library.
