Grade four,MORE than 130 riders took part in the inaugural Yarra Valley Grammar School horse trials at the Yarra Glen/Lilydale Hunt Club grounds at Yering recently.
Students from 58 Victorian schools sent teams or individual riders to compete in grades two to five.
They came from as far away as Inglewood, the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland to compete, and schools unable to field their own team of three or four riders made up composite teams from different schools.

Section 2: Melissa Backman from Boisdale Secondary College riding All That Jazz.
Grade 5: Alex Bryan from Carrington Primary School riding Timmy.
Team Awards: 1. Yarra Valley Grammar, 2. Ivanhoe Grammar School, 3. Tintern Girls Grammar, 4. Wonga Park Primary School, 5. A composite team of riders from Yarra Glen Primary School, St Mary’s School Hampton and St Mary’ s Mount Evelyn, 6. Mount Lilydale Mercy College.
