HEALESVILLE Hornets’ under 16 representative team won the East Two qualifying championship basketball last month.
Coach Russell Parrott was thrilled with the effort put in by the team. “After 10 months and 35 games the team put on the best team game I have seen all season to defeat the top team, Kinglake Lakers, with all the players contributing to the final score,” he said.
Mitch Danahay was awarded Most Valuable Player in the grand final with a game-high 19 points.
Congratulations also went to Rhys Parrott and Gizzy Mills, who have played more than 160 games in Healesville representative sides. During which time they have played in teams which have finished first three times, with a second and a third place also to their credit.
