YARRA Ranges Shire’s Summer of Fun is on again in January offering young people the opportunity to launch into a fun start to the year.
The Summer of Fun program has been organised by the Shire’s Youth Services team and features a great range of activities for young people.
Activities include hip hop dance classes, self defence and screen printing, as well as days out watching tennis, learning to surf, canoeing on the Yarra or swimming with dolphins in Port Phillip Bay.
Newly elected Shire of Yarra Ranges mayor Tim Heenan said the Summer of Fun is a month young people won’t want to miss out on.
“Young people can learn new dance moves, make a film, improve their driving, soak up some great live music at pools, go on an op shop shopping tour and even have a go at Crackerjack bowls,” Cr Heenan said.
For skaters and BMX riders the summer sessions clinics and competitions are also on again at Monbulk, Upwey, Lilydale, Healesville and Yarra Junction.
Booking information, parental permission and safety requirements for the summer sessions are available in the Summer of Fun brochure available from the shire’s community links.
All events are for young people aged 12 to 25 years (unless otherwise indicated) who live, work or study in the Shire of Yarra Ranges.
Some age requirements, fees and transport costs apply.
Bookings close on December 31 … but it’s wise to book early.
