THE Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow is firmly entrenched as part of Warburton’s live theatre culture.
Now, it’s Healesville’s turn.
The Roadshow, which gets topline local and international comedians out of the city and on to rural and regional stages, will be at Healesville Memorial Hall on Saturday 19 April.
That doesn’t mean Warburton audiences will miss out. What it does mean is a double dose of side-splitting comedy for Yarra Valley comedy fans.
The Roadshow will be in Warburton the following Saturday on 26 April.
Already confirmed for Warburton are Jeff Green from the UK and home-grown funny-people Denise Scott, Dave Callan and Hannah Gadsby (Tas).
The Healesville line-up, so far, is two Daves … Williams and Thornton, with other comedians to be announced.
Since its launch in 1987, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival has grown to become one of the biggest comedic gatherings in the world rivalled only by the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival.
Thousands of people flock to Melbourne each year just for the fun of it.
For just a little more than the petrol savings on a trip to the city, the Comedy Festival Roadshow brings world-class comedy right to the doorstep of Yarra Valley audiences.
That’s funny!
To book for Healesville, Warburton … or both, phone the Upper Yarra Arts Centre on 5966 5040.
