THE Healesville Bowling Club green was awash with a sea of white on Thursday last week as 72 competitors took part in its annual Gala Day.
Teams from Warburton, Boronia, Eastwood Golf, Yarra Junction, Croydon, Marysville, Monbulk, Yarra Glen and Healesville took part in the fundraising event.
Healesville team member Jean Connell said everybody who took part in the event enjoyed the day, made possible by sponsors such as Healesville Patchwork Collections, who donated prizes for winning teams.
“It’s one of our main money raising days,” Ms Connell said.
Healesville Bowling Club president Beryl Hort said that Healesville’s green was the perfect location for such an event.
“We are one of the only clubs in the area with a grass green, and we have two of them. There is only one other club that has two greens in the area,” Ms Hort said.
After the event the competitors joined one another for afternoon tea in the clubrooms where results were announced and prizes presented to the winning teams.
