This year’s festival; is the 24th Apple and Wine Festival and will feature attractions for all ages.
It is a country style family day that celebrates the completion of the apple and grape harvest in the Little Yarra Valley.
There will be free live entertainment, clowns, displays, chainsaw carving demonstrations, competitions such as the best scarecrow, apple pie and the heaviest giant pumpkin.
Plenty of entertainment for the young ones such as the popular animal farm, go karts, jumping castles, mini golf, archery and a bungy trampoline.
The day will also showcase many varied craft and market stalls including very cheap plants.
Numerous culinary delights can be enjoyed on the grass with your wine or Devonshire tea.
The festival is held in the peaceful bush setting of the grounds of the Gladysdale Primary School, just four kilometres from Yarra Junction along the Little Yarra Road on the way to Powelltown.
A grand raffle is run in conjunction with the festival with great prizes including a giant trailer package and various other prizes.
Tickets are only $2 and drawn on the day.
So bring the family along and join in the fun at the Apple and Wine Festival on Sunday 4 May, between 10am and 4pm.
Admission and parking is free and all profits from the day go to the Gladysdale Primary School.
Colouring competition
THREE lucky kids with an eye for colour will be wearing a personalised souvenir of this year’s Gladysdale Apple and Wine Festival as winners of the annual t-shirt colouring competition.
Age groups for the competition are up to five, six to eight and nine to 12, and the prize is a t-shirt printed with the winning entries.
To enter just colour in the fantastic poster created by grade four/five student Malcolm and send it to Festival Competition, Gladysdale Primary School, Little Yarra Road, Gladysdale, 3797.
Entries close at 5pm on Monday 30 April.
