IT’S six years since J and L Towing hit the road in Lilydale and they have made enormous headway in that relatively short time.
The company started in March 2001 with a single truck and now has a fleet of five tilt tray trucks operating from their Lilydale base.
While roadside assistance is a major component of the business the team is involved in all kinds of automotive transportation including conventional trade towing, racing car transportation and is a stolen car recovery and crime scene contractor with Victoria Police.
J and L Towing can transport vehicles in almost any condition and provides a free old car removal service.
The company’s involvement with the local community is widespread through their involvement at Alexandra Speedway, as a part of the crash crew, and the good working relationship they have with Yarra Valley SES and CFA groups.
They provide a free car removal service throughout the Yarra Valley and supply cars for practice, training nights and community demonstrations to Healesville and Lilydale SES units and Monbulk and Wandin CFA Road Rescue Units.
The vehicles are ‘recycled’ at the end of the training sessions.
J and L Towing safely transports vehicles and machinery and is able to relocate 20 foot containers all over the Melbourne metropolitan area, as well as to country Victoria and interstate.
Laurie Turner has recently returned from one of the company’s more extensive jobs transporting one of the cars involved in the Ford Road Show, which took the Ford racing crew to communities from Brisbane and Townsville.
J and L Towing is also available daily to transport bobcats, excavators, scissor lifts and any other machinery needing to be moved.
