FALSE eyelashes, high heels, dresses and wigs all featured at the Queens of the Round Table drag show over the weekend.
Organiser and performer Bea. B. Clarke said that she expected the total amount raised over the two nights would exceed $10,000.
All money raised will go towards buying a new command support vehicle, which will be housed in the new Hillcrest fire station in years to come.
The show was performed in front of a packed house at Yarra Valley Archery in Launching Place, seating close to 300 people on Saturday night.
Ms Clarke said that Saturday night saw the most people enjoy the show.
“I even saw some familiar faces in the audience from Friday night, they loved the show so much the first time they just had to come back again,” Ms Clarke said.
The Archery Centre was transformed into a cabaret nightclub and featured three other queens including Natasha Wild, Mercedes and first-timer Janae La Puss.
CFA volunteers also agreed to participate in the show, with a dance number that “raised the roof”.
At the end of the show, during thunderous applause, Ms Clarke announced that she hoped to make the fundraiser an annual event.
“If you want us to come back next year, it will be bigger and better than ever before,” Ms Clarke promised.
“This year we have four queens, next year they will be lining up to be a part of it. It’s great that we can help the Yarra Valley CFA.”
