THE Upper Yarra Community House provides quality learning programs across the Yarra Valley with training at Healesville, Yarra Junction, and Warburton.
“We provide the opportunity for accredited training,” said UYCH education and training manager Tony Drummond.
The nationally accredited courses help people update their skills to re-enter the workforce or start a new career.
UYCH also has tailor-made in-service training and skills development courses.
Free courses in Certificate III in Aged Care, Certificate III in Children’s Services, Financial Services and Certificate II in Horticulture for eligible people are also available with the introduction of the Australian Government Productivity Places Program.
In term three a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment begins, to become a fully qualified trainer and assessor in TAFE or other adult education.
People with Certificate III in Children’s Services can upgrade to a diploma level in one study year. Evening classes will begin soon.
Short courses on offer include Red Card training – OH&S Induction, chainsaw training, first aid and computer skills, as well as hobby and leisure courses.
A health care card is not compulsory.
Early enrolment is essential. UYCH also provides onsite childcare.
