WOODLANDS Rainforest Bungalows, a bushland retreat in Narbethong, is a major national tourism attraction – and that’s official.
Comprising four architecturally designed splitlevel, openplan bungalows set on 16 hectares of private rainforest, Woodlands has been recognised as Australia’s highest ranked boutique accommodation property.
The ranking was published in the inaugural issue of ‘Good Weekends Away: 100 Best Destinations for the Passionate Traveller’.
Woodlands Rainforest Bungalows rated an unbeatable 19.5 out of 20 in an anonymous review of accommodation conducted by a host of Australian travel journalists.
“It is really rewarding to be anonymously reviewed and acknowledged for the excellence of the overall experience our guests enjoy,” Woodlands’ owner Vicky King said.
The Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges were well represented in the Good Weekends guide, with other notable mentions including Chateau Yering, Kangaroo Ridge, Monreale Estate, and The Healesville Hotel.
“We are thrilled with the fantastic results of our many local operators and congratulate them on their achievement,” Executive Director, Destination Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Andrea Roberts said.
“This acknowledgment also fortifies the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges as one of the must see and stay regions in Australia.”
The guide also highlighted the top five touring drives in Victoria, ranking highly Healesville to Marysville and beyond to Lake Mountain.
“With the leadup to the Commonwealth Games next year, it is reassuring to see the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges recognised as one of the premier destinations in Victoria and Australia,” Ms Roberts said.
