JOHN, Sue and Josh recently started a new business called Bluegum Floats.
They realised there was a real need in the Yarra Valley for this type of business.
John has an extensive background in the horse industry firstly a farrier and then a strapper.
John has been an ornamental blacksmith for the past 25 years and his skills complement the building of horse floats.
He also designs and manufactures gates and internal and external balustrade.
Sue manages the business from admin to accounting and organises the boys.
Josh has worked for eight years in the steel industry and then spent five years building trailers.
The horse floats are all custom-made to the client’s individual needs.
They can register the float and trailers online for clients’ convenience.
The horse floats leave the premises fully functional and registered.
Bluegum Floats also service and repair floats.
On Sunday, 9 September at Wandin Park, Doongala Adult Riders will be holding an event, and on that day the horse floats will be on display.
Bluegum Floats invites people to come and have a look and discuss any requirements they might have in relation to their needs.
The price of a new float starts from $7000 including GST.
Delivery is approximately six weeks from the date of order.
