THE Little Yarra Steiner School’s Fair and Open Day is a second 21st birthday party for the school. You can’t put candles on a school so there will be plenty of flags instead.
The school is also proud to show off its birthday presents: a new music hall complete with baby grand piano and new Upper School classrooms.
The school officially celebrated its 21st birthday earlier this month having developed from a kindergarten in 1986 to seeing its first year 12 students graduate in 2003.
Classrooms from pre-school to year 12 will be open with displays of students’ work and teachers will be on hand to talk with parents and visitors.
Guided tours of the school will be conducted throughout the day.
With a world class music program the school is able to turn on a variety of musical entertainment featuring the acclaimed Little Yarra Ensemble and some students who are already working as professional musicians.
Activities include dance workshops, roving performances, drumming workshops, a photographic gallery, and a fantastic selection of market stalls.
Children’s activities include a puppet show, children’s craft, circatron and mini golf.
A tempting selection of fine, affordable and wholesome food, including the ever popular freshly-made all-fruit ice-cream and a spectacular finale in the final hour of the fair all add up to a fitting celebration for the school’s 21st year.
The Little Yarra Steiner School’s Fair and Open Day is on Sunday 28 October from 10am to 5pm at the school, 205 Little Yarra Road, Yarra Junction.
