A boon to the community



WOORI House Inc (WHI) has been a meeting place for people for more than 20 years assisting the community meeting its needs in a number of ways.
In providing a variety of services and programs WHI provides an environment where discussion, support and friendship can flourish.
WHI delivers programs for fun exercise including belly dancing, Bollywood dance, tai chi and family keep fit self defence as well as meditation groups.
Computer classes are available for beginners of all ages while friendship groups including LAFFF, card and board games, book groups and brewing clubs can be a great way of meeting new people.
A variety of training certificates can be obtained including Responsible Service of Alcohol, Responsible Service of Gambling, first aid and Food Safety Certificates1 and 2.
WHI are always interested in hearing from anyone wishing to tutor new and interesting subjects. Simply ring or drop in and pick up a proposal to teach form.
Numerous office facilities are available to the public including photocopying, printing, laminating, scanning, fax, phones and the Internet.
Visitors can enjoy a tea or coffee for just 40 cents while they go about their business. Those looking to relax can peruse the shelves at the small but well-rounded library.
If you’re having trouble filling out your tax forms WHI offers free tax help for low income earners – just make an appointment.
WHI has recently embarked on a recruitment drive and is looking for vibrant and enthusiastic volunteers to join the committee of management.
It is always looking for opportunities to further establish its links with the community and people should feel free to contact WHI and its new coordinator Sonja Mazar-Zergers.
WHI’s hours are Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm and closed for school and public holidays.
