Kindergarten security stepped up

QUEENS Park Kindergarten has again been the target of thieves.
Last week the kindergarten, had its shed broken into and a number of bikes stolen.
Kindergarten staff members later recovered the bikes from the nearby skate park.
Healesville Sergeant Tony Van Gorp said that the kindergarten was becoming a constant target of thieves and vandals.
“It seems a popular target, due to its isolation being in the middle of Queens Park,” Sgt Van Gorp said.
He said that in an attempt to prevent further damage or theft police would increase patrols around the area and also introduce static surveillance.
Sgt Van Gorp asked for anyone with any information in relation to the kindergarten to contact Healesville Police on 5962 4422.
Meanwhile, after a recent spate of bronze thefts at the Healesville and Lilydale cemeteries, Healesville police have received reports that reserve plaques have also been taken from the Yarra Glen cemetery.
Sgt Tony Van Gorp said that 10 plaques were stolen from Yarra Glen last week.
In a separate incident a Healesville couple has been charged with theft of copper wiring from the Eildon area.
