NANCY Watt put a bit of extra jingle into jingle bells when Joe’s Folk visited Monda Lodge last week.
The Yarra Ranges U3A singing group, decked out in red, brought a whole lot of Christmas cheer to Monda residents.
Nancy Watt enjoyed a spotlight moment taking centre stage to help out with an impressive performance on the tamborine.
Joe Tuppenney, who leads the group, said his folk and the old folk they entertain get a real kick out of singing along together, especially at Christmas.
“It’s good old fashioned fun and if the audience can tap their toes or clap along to the songs, so much the better.”
Some of the toe-tapping numbers included Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer and Joe’s special Aussie arrangement of Jingle Bells but Mr Tuppenney said it was the Silent Night that really captured the spirit of Christmas for the Monda audience.
Right ‘redy’ to jingle
