Relax and dine at BanQ restaurant

BANQ Cafe and Wine Bar in Yarra Glen opened its doors in the beginning of October 2004.
The old bank building underwent a month of renovations to re-capture some of its former old world charm with warm Federation colour schemes inside, fireplaces in both front rooms and the magnificently restored original vault door, which has become a must see feature.
The cosy front room contains comfortable leather lounges to sit and enjoy a coffee and the paper or a quiet drink and a catch up with some close friends.
There is a newly created bar and improved access to the back long room, which is a perfect room for larger groups and special functions.
Historical photographs of the building and Yarra Glen’s past adorn the walls of the front dining room.
The large sunny courtyard is a perfect way to sit back and watch the world go by while enjoying a Ploughman’s Lunch and locally grown Sauvignon Blanc or if you prefer a more private outdoor setting, the rear courtyard is the perfect place to relax with a local beer and battered flathead tails.
The focus on the menu is to represent the country fare and local produce which makes the Yarra Valley such a uniquely beautiful place and a destination greater than just its award winning vineyards.
For those who appreciate a local drop, the ever expanding wine list and locally brewed, Hargreaves Hill beers provide a diverse representation of the Yarra Valley region.
The first Thursday of the Month is Wine Club where boutique wineries in the area come to showcase their wines.
Taste the wines, meet the wine makers face to face and learn about what makes their wines so unique.
Acacia Ridge will feature on 5 October, Warramate on 2 November and Allinda on 7 December.
Due to increasing demand BanQ Cafe and Wine Bar is now open for dinner from Wednesday through to Sunday which provides the restaurant’s many regulars with a mid week finer dining experience in a friendly atmosphere.
The dinner menu is an opportunity to taste locally sourced game meats, organic and bio-dynamic produce, hand made Charcuteries and Pastas.
Open times are Monday 8.30am to 4.30pm; Wednesday 11.30am to 9.30pm; Thursday to Saturday 8.30am to 11pm and Sunday 8.30am to 9pm.
