YARRA Ranges mayor, Monika Keane, is inviting local volunteers to join her for a ‘thank you’ under the big top as part of Winterfest in Warburton.
Volunteers ranging from mums and dads who help out in school and sporting club canteens to SES and CFA members are invited to take part in the first of three community concerts which Cr Keane will host during the year.
“The community concerts are a great way to thank the many volunteers who play such a vital role in the provision of services to our community,” Cr Keane said.
“Volunteers play a huge part in our community, with sometimes little or no thanks or recognition.
“Without their assistance, the shire would be a much poorer place to live.”
The concert is on Saturday, 3 June at 6pm and admission is free. A number of local entertainers will perform and a free sausage sizzle and hot soup will keep the winter chills at bay.
