Call for ideas to showcase talent

A COMMUNITY Ideas Night to be held in Yarra Junction next week is the first step in a project designed to showcase Upper Yarra talent.
Made in Upper Yarra, a joint project of Upper Yarra Community Voice and Warburton’s Bridge 3799 is scheduled for November, but UYCV chairwoman Glennice Mathers said there is a lot to be done in the meantime.
The meeting on Tuesday, 5 June at Yarra Junction Bowling Club will come up with ideas and there are plans to run workshops and events throughout August, September and October on anything from art and craft to performing arts, debating, cookery, environment, gardening and woodwork.
“Other ideas are welcome,” Ms Mathers said. “We want people to come along on Tuesday, share their ideas or talk about a talent they may like to share with others, or perhaps join the group to help put this together.”
The Community Ideas Night starts at 7.30pm and an RSVP is preferred, but not mandatory.
Contact Ms Mathers on 5964 6152 or project coordinator Sue Ditchfield on 5967 4209 for further details.
