Songs about that special feeling

By Melissa Meehan
MUSIC is often something we associate with love and relationships.
Most of us can think of particular songs we associate with the love relationships of our lives.
Below are just some of the songs that deal with the period when two people share romance.
Boyz II Men – I’ll Make Love To You (1994)
This one is perhaps the best song ever recorded for a prelude to a magical night with a lover.
Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack – Tonight I Celebrate My Love (1983)
It is a perfect record for slow dancing with your lover.
Debbie Gibson – Lost In Your Eyes (1989)
With this song, Debbie Gibson made a generation of teenagers believe in romantic love.
Paul McCartney – My Love (1973)
Derided by critics as hopelessly sappy, My Love has survived as a simple tribute to an all-encompassing romantic love.
Savage Garden – Truly Madly Deeply (1997)
This duo’s song of a love encompassing mountains, sea and sky was an instant romantic classic.
Few songs capture the moment of pledging deep undying love so well.
Barry White – You’re the First, the Last, My Everything (1975)
Few singers could flatter a lover like the masterful Barry White.
Mariah Carey – Fantasy (1995)
Mariah Carey demonstrates just how fine fantasising about a potential lover can be.
It makes Mariah get “kind of hectic inside,” but it’s all just a “sweet, sweet fantasy.”
Madonna – Crazy For You (1985)
Madonna’s first big ballad hit is a beautiful tribute to that first kiss, that first dance, and the incredible fluttering heart.
Olivia Newton-John – I Honestly Love You (1974)
Primarily remembered for sweet songs of romance and light. “I Honestly Love You,” one of her best, is a bittersweet confession of illicit infatuation.
