FEBRUARY in Warburton was a dry argument, according to Mail rainfall recorder Keith Thomas.
Mr Thomas recorded only 55mm, almost 20 per cent below the annual average of 69.5mm.
“To date we have received 109.5mm, which is well short of the average of 148.2mm for the first two months,” Mr Thomas said.
Healesville received only 0.8mm more than Warburton, with Alma Mitchell recording rain on 14 days.
Even then it was up considerably from the previous year, in which just 17.6mm fell.
The water in Melbourne’s storage dams continues to shrink and now stands at 629,258megalitres, which Mr Thomas said equated to 35.5 per cent of capacity.
Dry time continues in February
