HEALESVILLE has had a face-lift and Yarra Ranges councillor Jeanette McRae is encouraging local community members to help keep up the good looks.
Cr McRae said recent council work to improve the appearance of the town including painting, repairing and renewing street furniture, rubbish bins and lamp poles had made an enormous improvement.
She said some of the wonderful work done by council staff was being underminded, however, with stickers and billposters being put up around the town.
“We’ve already had to spend time and effort removing stickers and posters from newly painted rubbish bins, seats and lamp poles.
“Healesville residents take a great deal of pride in the look and feel of their town and I’m asking for their help to keep Healesville looking great,” Cr McRae said.
Community members can also help clean up Healesville on Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, 4 March. Registrations will be at Healesville Market with Healesville Environment Watch, phone 5962 1224, or at Queen’s Park with Mt Toolbewong Landcare Group, phone 5962 5115.
