Witnesses sought over pizza bandit

POLICE are calling for witnesses after an East Warburton pizza deliveryman was robbed at knifepoint in Mt Evelyn.
The 26-year-old man was held-up shortly after 9.15pm on Thursday, 12 July.
He was called to a house in North Avenue, Mt Evelyn, for a pizza delivery but it turned out to be a bogus order.
When the man returned to his car he felt a sharp object pressed against his back and heard a male voice demanding money and the keys to his car.
The driver handed over delivery money from his bum bag and some cash from his wallet.
He also handed over his keys but the bandit threw them in a bush before disappearing into the darkness.
Detective Senior Constable Neal Leb, of the Lilydale Criminal Investigations Unit, said the victim was unable to give a description of his attacker but that police urged anyone who may have seen anything to contact them.
Police said the case was isolated and that there had been no other reports of similar crimes in the area.
Police are calling for anyone who may know anything about the robbery to come forward.
People with information on the hold-up should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
