Cash for school’s upgrade

ST BRIGIDS Parish School in Healesville has received $75,000 from the Federal Government to fund improved security, classroom modifications and sun protection structures.
McEwen MP Fran Bailey recently announced the funding as part of the Federal Government’s Investing in Our Schools programme.
“The wellbeing of the students and safety of the school will also be improved with the provision of shade structures and upgrading of the security system.”
St Brigids principal Brett Collison said the funding would provide welcome additions to the school.
“It’s very exciting to now be able to carry out our plans,” Mr Collison said.
“Obviously a few aspects of this project are for safety reasons and will be a wonderful benefit to our teachers, students and the whole school community.
“We are getting the work done that we otherwise wouldn’t and we’re very thankful for that.”
Ms Bailey said this round of Investing in Our Schools delivered much-needed funds to our less well-off Catholic and independent schools and that the benefits were far-reaching for the wider school community.
