THEREis only six weeks left to nominate people for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay.
The world’s longest relay lasts for one year and one day and covers 180,000km across the Commonwealth.
The baton arrives in Australia on 24 January and will travel across the nation for 50 days. Along the way it will pass through Yarra Glen and Healesville. The runner selectors are looking for people who have performed major feats of individual accomplishment, made outstanding acts of generosity or kindness or made a contribution to the community.
Nomination forms are available at www.queensbatonrelay.telstra.com or phone 9613 2006. Applications close at 5pm on Friday 9 September.
