WHEN Mark Bresser’s very pregnant wife started having early contractions, he never believed he would soon be delivering their third child at home!
“It was lucky the other two were at the babysitters that night,” he said jokingly.
“A bit of a coincidence, too, considering it’s only the second time we’ve had a babysitter in 14 months!”
Mr Bresser and his wife, Vickie, had just treated themselves to a night out on Sunday, 19 November, not expecting their new child for another six days.
However, after their night out, Mrs Bresser’s contractions started once they got home. They called an ambulance but the baby started its journey before the ambulance arrived.
To ease his new child on its way, Mr Bresser delivered the baby himself by following instructions from an emergency telephone operator.
Baby Maddison arrived at 12.51am and the ambulance a short time later.
“It was a bit of a coincidence as I had a check-up appointment at the hospital scheduled for the next day,” said Mrs Bresser.
But there were no complaints from these proud parents, with mum and baby healthy and the third-time dad feeling particularly blessed.
The Bressers also have a three-year-old son, Cody, and 16-month-old daughter, Teagan.
