THE HEALESVILLE Cricket Club’s Under 12A team played Hoddles Creek. Healesville was put into bat. They started well with Mitchell Baker making 6 runs. Sam O’Brien came in and made 7 runs. Matthew Kellalea retired on 9 followed by Dylan Bickley also retired on 9. Fergus Bunn also did well making 7.

Under 12B
HEALESVILLE played Woori Yallock A in wet and windy conditions. Woori won the toss and batted on a slippery pitch. Tom Dalley’s outstanding effort produced a hat-trick netting him 3/5.

Best players: Tom Dalley 3/5.
Under 14B
HEALESVILLE lost the toss, and Woori Yallock batted first and started well. The Healesville bowlers all tried hard, with the slippery ball not making it easy. Most of the Healesville team were playing their first game of cricket and showed with a few games under their belt will improve quickly.

Under 14A
IN damp conditions Healesville opened well against Hoddles Creek. Brendan Damrow played well in his first game. Daniel Rogers and Nathaniel Hrabe were unbeaten and Nigel Wickes made an excellent 25.

Under 16
Healesville’s cricket season started in normal cold wet conditions but they managed a full morning. Losing the toss to Hoddles Creek and being sent in Healesville managed to bat out the morning, which is fantastic for the first game. Solid opening stand of 32 between M. Sawyer (16) and A. Sanders (12). Captain M. Powell (44) played a good hand and combined in an 80-run stand with M. Taite (41). Healesville finished on 8/160. Congratulations to new boys J. McPherson (7) and D. Angus (2*) making their first runs for the club.

HODDLES CREEK CRICKET CLUB
Under 12
HODDLES Creek captain Jaydn Pobke got his season off to a great start by winning the toss and getting an early wicket. After slumping to 3 for 26, Matt Kellalea and Dylan Bickley steadied the Healesville innings. Stephanie Robertson took the ball after drinks and took two great wickets. In their first ever games Liam Rowe and Ryan Blakis did a great job at the end.

Under 14
FIRST game for the season for the Under 14s. Healesville won the toss and batted scoring 8/182. D. Rodgers 52 and N. Hrabe 40.
Hoddles Creek bowled T. Finch 2/22 and D. Chesney 2/22. A great day’s cricket by both teams for the first game of the new season well done to all the boys.
YARRA JUNCTION CRICKET CLUB
YARRA Junction played Healesville in the Strachan Shield Reserve but after 26 overs the rain came with Healesville 3 for 71 end of day.
Under 12A Gold
YARRA Junction Under 12 Gold played Warburton-Millgrove. The rain held off and all played well. Jarrod Dobson bowled well at 2 for 2 after 5 overs, and Matty Mauick took 2 for 7 after 5 overs.

Under 12B
JUNCTION started the season well by winning the toss and choosing to bowl. Alissa Ford and Robbie Boxell opened the bowling.
They both bowled well Alissa took 3/3 off 3 and Robbie was unlucky by only getting 1/5 and two run outs one by Darcy Bell and the other by M. Shecross and B. Nightingale. Coldstream set a target of 48 runs for victory.
Junction started off slow by losing and early wicket with D. Bell being dismissed without scoring. But then Angus Bell and Alissa Ford made a good partnership until Angus was bowled by a good ball.
Then they lost Alissa who made a beautiful innings of 6 runs. Junction passed the score with Michael Shellcross 5 not out and Patrick Ford 3 not out. At stumps we were 4/55.
WARBURTON-MILLGROVE CRICKET CLUB
ALL SENIOR grades washed out, as were the Under 14s and 16s. The Under 12A got a start scoring 6/90 against Yarra Junction Gold. M. Bowman batted well scoring 32* as did I. Andueza 12* and C. Loughnan.
M. Madlick 2/6 and J. Dobson 2/2 were Yarra Junction’s best bowlers in a great first up effort from both sides.
Under 14
NEW players are still desperately needed for the Under 14s.
