AN EXHIBITION capturing South Australia’s stunning Flinders Ranges will open this week in Montsalvat’s Long Gallery.
Students from the Montsalvat Art School recently travelled with their teacher and local artist, David Moore, to capture the Flinders Ranges on canvas and paper.
Fifty of the works painted by 10 students from the school, during and after the expedition, will be housed in the gallery as part of a unique exhibition.
Mr Moore said the works in the exhibition interpret the 600 million-year-old prehistoric landscape of the ranges through oil painting, gouache and large pencil drawings.
The artists featured in the exhibition are Marina Campbell, Kevin Dinsdale, Annie Duncan, Noel Nicholson, Fred Rees, John Renkin, Mark Roberts, Paul Satchell, Phil Sayers and Ian Steele.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, 3 August, from 9am to 5pm, until Thursday, 31 August. For more information phone 9439 7712.
