GRANT Hardinge is again preparing to wave good-bye to his hair as part of the World’s Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Mr Hardinge sacrificed his locks for the cause last year after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2005.
It was a pub-gig with a difference at the Reefton Hotel where the big shave drew quite a crowd. The hotel management has again got behind Mr Hardinge and the shave will take place there on Saturday afternoon, 17 March.
“Lots of things have happened in the last year during my journey living with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma,” Mr Hardinge said last week.
“I spent a week at The Alfred hospital having a stem cell harvest; my wife (Dr. Jenny Conway) and I have attended plenty of doctors’ appointments and recently had another inspiring stay at The Gawler Foundation in Yarra Junction.”
Mr Hardinge urged people to show support for patients and families living with leukaemia and lymphoma, as well as helping fund vital research into new treatments for these blood cancers by supporting the Leukaemia Foundation.
Hotel manager Richard Elliott said the Reefton community was really behind the event again and hope to raise a good amount of money and have a fun-filled day for a great cause.
Mr Hardinge said people can donate by going to www.worldsgreatestshave.com and following the links to sponsor – Grant Hardinge, or in person at Warburton Post Office or on the day at Reefton.
