HEALESVILLE’S State Emergency Service (SES) is set to benefit from a charity dinner to be held this month.
The fund-raising dinner, being organised by the Healesville branch of the ALP, will feature Police and Emergency Services Minister Tim Holding as guest speaker.
Evelyn MP Heather McTaggart will be the master of ceremonies and proceeds from the dinner will go to the Healesville SES branch.
The president of the Healesville branch of the ALP, Trevor Mays, said the dinner was a good opportunity for locals to show their support for the SES.
“We are hoping supporters and helpers will come along and show their support for the vital work our SES branch does in the community,” he said.
Healesville SES acting controller Karen Picone urged residents to support the event.
“The SES is always looking for money and this will be a great way for people to show their support for what we do,” she said.
Ms Picone said the SES branch would put proceeds from the dinner towards replacing the its primary rescue vehicle.
“This is going to be a fantastic event and we really appreciate the ALP branch doing this for us. We hope it can become an annual event,” she said.
Mr Mays said the dinner, which will be held at the Sanctuary House Resort Motel on Friday, 21 July at 7.30pm, would also feature raffles and an auction.
Tickets to the dinner, which includes a two course meal with soft drinks, are $35 per person, but places are limited. A full bar will also be available.
